A Ceremony Beneath the Oaks
Sarah and James met at university and spent seven years dreaming of their wedding day. When they found Oak & Ivy Estate, they knew immediately — the garden ceremony space, with its canopy of mature oaks and views across the countryside, was exactly what they had pictured.
Their spring wedding made the most of the estate in bloom. White roses, soft lavender, and flowing fabric transformed the garden arbour into a dream ceremony setting. Guests were seated on cross-back chairs lining a petal-strewn aisle, with the gentle sound of a string quartet filling the air.
After the ceremony, guests moved to the courtyard for champagne and canapés while the couple stole away for golden-hour photographs among the rose gardens. The reception followed in the candlelit hall, where long tables were dressed in ivory linen and garlands of greenery.

The Reception Hall was transformed with floor-to-ceiling draping, hundreds of candles, and low floral arrangements in gold vessels. Instead of a traditional head table, they opted for a sweetheart table framed by a dramatic floral arch — a stunning focal point for photographs.
The autumn light gave the estate a warm, golden quality that carried through every photograph. After the reception, the couple retreated to their private overnight suite on the property — waking up to mist over the gardens and breakfast on the terrace.

The ceremony took place at the reflection pond, with just 45 guests seated on hay bales draped in linen. Olivia’s sister played guitar as she walked down the aisle, and the couple wrote their own vows — a moment that had everyone in tears.
Dinner was served family-style at two long tables in the courtyard under festoon lights, with locally sourced food and wine from the Stellenbosch region. The evening ended with dancing under the stars — proof that the most meaningful celebrations are sometimes the smallest ones.
